Omowande Yoloye

You’re not alone.

You don’t have to do that journey alone.”

Wande was studying for a PhD when a brutal and racially motivated attack in 2021 forced him to give up his studies and ultimately left him homeless. After sleeping for a time on a friend’s couch and in desperate need of help, he turned to the Salvation Army where he has since managed to get his life back on track. He works now as a volunteer at the Citadel’s Community Hub, is engaged to be married, and is training to help young people free themselves of the kinds of social problems that contributed to his assault.
